Tree Service Cost... Pricing Factors...

How We Compare to the Commpetition

Compare our daily rates to a landscaper or handyman with a pole saw and you will find that our prices are slightly higher. Compared to the two international companies in town we're slightly less expensive for a daily rate. But, if you compare price per job (not daily rate), you'll find that our rates are the best in town. There are several factors that must be looked at to understand how to manage cost on a project: worker efficiency, business overhead, appropriate scope of work, and profit.

Our Crew's Efficiency

Worker efficiency is probably the most important factor. A typical tree service will staff a three man crew with: one highly skilled climber(foreman), one "trainee", and one dedicated ground man. Austin Tree Experts crews are staffed by three highly trained, skilled climbers (with one designated as foreman). That means all three workers are putting out 100% and the crew is very efficient. Nobody is lollygagging around.

We Keep Our Overhead Costs Down

Our business model is very cost effective. We use smaller trucks that cost less and have lower gas consumption. We don't have the high ownership and maintenance costs of wood chippers at all. We trailer the debris away from your house and partner with someone else to manage the debris.

Profit is a requirement. No business can survive without it. If you feel like you are getting too good of a deal, it's probably true. Beware of super cheap bids. You get what you pay for.

Only Do Work You Really Need

Engaging in work that you don't need is the biggest waste of all. Our staff of expert certified arborists will provide an appropriate scope of work so that you are only doing what you need and not wasting resources where you don't need it.

Estimates are free. We'll gladly provide you a proposal with a locked in price to get the job done. Beware of companies that want to bill you by the hour. There is no motivation for them to work efficiently. We have tried this model in the past and somebody always gets their feelings hurt. Either the trimmers are mad because they had to go home early and didn't make their daily quota, or the customer is mad because they are being charged more than the original estimate.
