We use the ISA Tree Worker Certification as our model for employee training. To obtain this certification an individual must have at least 1.5 years experience, complete aerial rescue training, maintain CPR/First Aide certification, pass a knot tying test, pass a tree climbing test (skills exam) and pass a written test. This is a very comprehensive program that demonstrates knowlege of trees and a tree climber's ability to work safely in high, dangerous situations. Each of our pruning crews has an ISA Certified Tree Worker on site!
Two primary activities make up our training mechanism:
Competing in the annual Texas Chapeter ISA Tree Climbing Competition
--> Top tree climbers from around the state come together to compete for the title of Texas Tree Climbing Champion. This is a great place to pick up the latest tricks and tips!
Training Classes from Mercado Horticultural
--> Jose Mercado is a bilingual ISA Certified Arborist / Certified Tree Worker who has been in the tree care industry for over 20 years. His workshops are great! We bring in Jose once or twice a year from California for private classes.
