    1. If the tree is protected size, yes. 19″DBH for residential settings, 8″ for commercial settings. The city is pretty harsh for blatant removal without a permit.

    1. Any tree 19″ DBH and larger requires a permit, even on your own property. If the tree is not dead, dying or dangerous, you will be required to do mitigation (plant new trees or care for existing trees).

  1. I have a protected tree with hypoxylon and I can’t get a permit to take down the diseased tree. They let me trim a few branches but that’s it. I’m afraid it’s going to kill somebody.
